Inamo Restaurant

Inamo_london

A geek girls dream restaurant! No need for an entertaining date here. The ordering system is enough to keep you occupied and fascinated thru out the evening.

As the website says; inamo is a pioneering Oriental fusion restaurant and bar where the control of the dining experience is placed firmly in your hands. At the core of Inamo is our interactive ordering system. Diners place orders from an illustrated food and drinks menu projected on to their table surface. You'll set the mood, discover the local neighbourhood, and even order a taxi home.

Almond-avocado puree

P70

Almonds are great nuts for your health. Why not make the ultimate omega3 puree?

This is an easy low-carb dinner. Puree: blend almonds and avocado with olive oil. Fry carrots, asparges and salamon.

You could also make a spinach puree with fresh spinach, cream fraiche/yoghurt an other greens you find. (I love to throw in ruccola). Save some cream fraiche to blend in the frying pan so the oils from the fish and vegetables blend in.

Hanna - the experimental chef

P112

I have tried out "filodeig" for the first time in my cooking. (don't know the English translation but it's the kind of pastry they use in spring rolls). It's fun! It looks so much like paper that it's weird to actually tuck it around food. It might be convenient to use in some areas but I didn't find the taste overwhelming. Not that it taste bad. It just doesn't taste very much. I only had vegetables so maybe if you try with meat or even fry them then they might taste more. (Everything fried tastes like heaven no matter what I'm afraid). Btw: love the word "filodeig". Most beautiful word I have heard in a long time:)

Recomended eating in Athens

Romanaka

Img_9645

Okey, so I had this meal before going to bed at 9 in the morning but right there and then it was the best meal I have ever had. A place hard to find if you don`t know where it is. Google it if your going to Athens.

Dome Politeia

Fine dining. Addictive.

Borough market

Londonfood_2

Lonely Planet just named the Borough market as the top thing you can do in London for free. (if you don`t buy anything that is witch is near impossible with all the great food and products) What I love about vacations is tasting new things and hunting for "the best" among my favorites. And yes, sadly the carb diet went out the window as we say in Norway. Also a part of the vacation part:) I still have vacation but are back in Norway so now the challenge is to get back on track. So help me God.

By the way: What is so special about Monmouth coffee? The line went around the building!

Other food delights from the trip:

Light of India - Earl's Court

Finding great restaurants in London isn't a problem, you just have to be willing to pay. Loads! But having a fantastic meal for 11 pounds is an experience as you keep telling yourself "I can't belive I'm in this fantastic place eating fantastic meal (with the best bill-chocolate there is!) with fantastic service and all for 11 pounds!".

The first time I was there was with all nine family members with spouses. The second time it was just me and another family member. The waiter remembered that I liked my coca cola cold without ice and extra bill-chocolate. And that just after being there one time! (I had to be a pain;)

Next time I'm in London I will stay at the Hotel this restaurant is connected to just to be able to eat there. If you are near Gloucester/Earl's Court you shod too. Adress: 67-69 Gloucester Road | South Kensington

Whole Food

There was a big debate in Norway a couple of weeks ago about Norwegian supermarkets. A loot of chefs spoke public about what they thought about the food selection.

Today I have been to Whole Food in London and was totally amazed! What a fantastic supermarket! I could spend the day there. Come on Norway. Make it happen!

Green peas puree and soup

I making soup from the start every week now. It`s excellent for breakfast and evening meal. The first day you make it you can make a puree for dinner and then make soup of the rest the next day. (just add water of chicken or vegetable bullion and put it back on the machine again) If you freeze a portion as well you always have a healthy meal.

Ingredients:
Peas
Union
Charlotte onion
Parsnip
Leek
Garlic
Chicken
Horseradish
Paprika
Mung beans (Especially from Artisjokken)

But is healthy soup good? What I mean with healthy is NO sour cream, no regular cream, no milk, no cheese products or butter! And of course it`s not as good as when you add these ingredients, lets be honest:) But you body and mind will thank you for it and after a while it actually tastes better for each meal!
