Philipe Levine - Headism

Nothing like kickstarting a London trip with a gallery opening. I was so happy when Philipe Levine invited me to the private viewing of the Other Art Fair at the Bargehouse at Oxo tower. 3 floors with some amazing artist and Philips head is just as fascinating as you would think! (and yes I got to touch it:) Check out his website http://www.headism.co.uk/ to se more of his work. Thanks Philip for a unique experience!

Of the other artists I also liked Patric StPaul and Dan Hillier. The dead rabbit picture was the reason I dropped my iPhone down at the stone floor and the little thing broke into pieces! Yes, a dead rabbit is enough to startle me. (and I was holding a glas of white wine in the other hand witch made it hard to catch it. You know I love white wine!) My schedule in London was so crazy that I didn´t stand a chance having time to buy a new one before Paris. I found my way to the Apple store at the Louvre and 700€ poorer I´m now happy with the new 4S!

Arne&Carlos

Arnecarlos_

The most inspirational speech at the conference in Denmark! What an amazing story! Two guys with no business plan, not quite sure what they where doing but a goal to concur the wold with Norwegian prints.

And 10 years later they are rock and rolls stars in the knitting industry. (their own words) They had so manny funny quotes like "if you can afford to take time to knit they your rich". Arne in Arne&Carlos. They describe knitting like heroin and the addiction is one of the reason their Christmas ornament balls have been such a huge success. I could have listen to these guys all day! Qoute of the day:

"The Independent called me yesterday telling me that they wanted to talk about my balls"
- Carlos Zachrison -

Arne is actually nitting while waiting to go on stage.

Before making knitting balls and dolls they had a pretty big brand that was in famous design boutiques all over the world: Paris, London, NYC, Japan (?). And here in Norway our crown prinsess where them and that made them big in Germany. A fairy-tail story until the financial crises hit the world and they decided to make changes. So today they  are autours of a bestselling book about their knitting ornaments and the story behind the designs.

They are also doing different things like red wine! They said that they mostly have to say no to new projects as traveling the world promoting the new book (and a new one one the way) is taking much of their time but wine was so far from what they usually do that of course there has to be a wine with a knitting label of a red pig. Red more about Arne&Carlos on their website or even better, watch this hilarious video:

Art night

Today the soroptimist club meeting was held at Sørlandet Kunstmuseum. The present exhibition has set a record with 4000 visitors. We got the chance to walk around on all flors in addition to our normal meeting schedual. The work you see in the picture of the man vacuming snow is by Adel Abidin. The chair is also on the homepage (www.skmu.no) but it does not say the artist:(

My new career

Kunstsalongen
At Odderøya I also found my plan B for my career!;) I look crazed with my painting brush overly excited about the painting I'm about to create.

Artists Anna Berthelsen and Tine Nygåed gave us subject "circle" and "friendship". My stippled line between the two persons symbols two persons on different roads but still together, even though they are on different paths. It also means more but that's to private:)

Picture is of course for sale, haha.

Galleri Infill

Great art opening of Gallery Infill in Oslo, the smallest gallery in Norway!

First artist out was Asbjørn Kessel Brandsnes with "Sticks&Stones". Music by Guro von Germeten. Cecilie Tyri Holt runs the show at the gallery.

I love the concept of combining an new architectural building (apartments for sale if your looking in Oslo) with a small art gallery in the window of the building. Congratulations to Bjørnar Johnsen and Per Fronth with the opening!

Btw: the video above captures the eccentric artist Pusgwagner:)
