My talk with Tommaso Cavalli

Tommaso_cavalli_hanna_aase
I have been so lucky to spend the weekend in Oslo with son of Roberto Cavalli, Tommaso Cavalli and his beautiful wife and the people who have pulled it all together. It`s the first time the Cavalli family has visited Norway and the occasion was the launch of the new Cavalli Vodka. Of course the design of the bottle is by Roberto Cavalli but many may not know that his son has a wine farm in Italy called Tenuta Degli Dei

Importer of the new product is Crianza wine import with Johan Manon Ceron (left in picture) and what an amazing job he has done with getting Cavalli to Norway.

I got permission to share some of the thoughts Tommaso have on wine, vodka and plans for the future. The new vodka was an idea by his father and comes in four different sizes. (but will not come in different tastes as it`s pure by itself) It`s a vodka that`s already won different prices for it`s taste and is the first one to ever be produced in Italy. It`s already doing well in the US, Germany, England and now it`s soon to be in Singapore and China. Tommaso thinks that Norway is ready for a high end luxury vodka as Norwegian people are highly international as people and as a country.

Tommaso comes from a family that works with a lot of things like of course fashion and Cavalli hotels and clubs so when I asked Tommaso what he thinks is important when choosing what to do in life he had a moment to think and said: "Passion. To have passion for that you do. To love what you do. And maybe get to see the next generation take over".

You coud say that you can tell a man`s caracter on how he treats his wife and what a gentleman Mr.Cavalli is. Even though the main focus is on him I will never forget the sweetness of his wife and how he makes sure we all get to see it. They are remarkable. Thank you both for the experience to see it!

Opening of new Clarion Hotel Ernst

Img_9675

It could probably not be more wrong to call this hotel new as it is about 150 years old, but they refurnished it for a big amount so it`s a whole new look and place but still the good old hotel as we locals would want it to be. Petter Stordalen, Norway`s biggest hotel entrepreneur was of course the night`s main man. Thanks to Hotel Ernst for inviting me and for an amazing night!

Hanna - the experimental chef

P112

I have tried out "filodeig" for the first time in my cooking. (don't know the English translation but it's the kind of pastry they use in spring rolls). It's fun! It looks so much like paper that it's weird to actually tuck it around food. It might be convenient to use in some areas but I didn't find the taste overwhelming. Not that it taste bad. It just doesn't taste very much. I only had vegetables so maybe if you try with meat or even fry them then they might taste more. (Everything fried tastes like heaven no matter what I'm afraid). Btw: love the word "filodeig". Most beautiful word I have heard in a long time:)

Img_5793

I got a new bag in sheep leather in one of my favorite colors from Uterque for this fall! It has it`s on department for the iphone and side pockets for better organizing. I`m already in love with it. I have always said that my purse is suppose to keep me alive for three months if I`m ever kidnaped:)

Whats_in_your_purse
What I have in my purse:

  • Iphone wireless charger
  • USB transfer cable
  • Memory stick
  • Earphones
  • Earplugs (for noise)
  • Point and shoot camera
  • Extra battery for camera
  • Glue roller for clothes
  • Liquorice (when public speaking)
  • Business-cards
  • Hairbands
  • Wallet (vintage just can`t get rid of it)
  • Keys: house, car, grandmother
  • Wet tissues
  • Pen
  • Nail-file
  • Gum
  • Loyalty/club cards
  • Natural energy pils
  • Vitamins
  • Painkillers
  • Insect Repellent
  • Compeed
  • Cold and flu medicin
  • Different pharmacy remedies

The secret is of course to have everything in mini size! And then small bags for organizing pharmasy stuff in one. Beauty in one. Electronics in one department. And so on.

I don`t have a lot of make-up in my bag. I rarely spend time on it after I leave the house. Have I missed anything? What do you have that I don`t?

Club Animal - Athens

When the employers are in cages you know why they call the place Animal. The place is completely packed so a table is recommended.

Thanks to Christos for the contribution in this picture, haha.

Romanaka

Img_9645

Okey, so I had this meal before going to bed at 9 in the morning but right there and then it was the best meal I have ever had. A place hard to find if you don`t know where it is. Google it if your going to Athens.

Dome Politeia

Fine dining. Addictive.

Island Kythira

My favorite Greek Island. (okey, so I have not been to many but for once the rumor is true!) From Athens to Kythira is like two different worlds as it should be on a quite Greek Island to your self.

First time driving in Greece. (people from Athens advised me to start on a Island without people if I where to drive in this country:)

When I came around the corner and saw this I thought I might have died and gone to heaven. And I might have just did if what I thought was two black wild dogs actually where not but goats:)

A small road trip on the tip of the mountain that makes you feel like king of the world.
